Government of Colombia
Colombia has a Presidential State/Constitutional Republic government and the President (Juan Manuel Santos) is the head of state. Just like in the United States, the Presidents serve four ears terms. There are 102 members in their Senate and 166 Representatives in their Chamber of Representatives. The representatives and 100 of the Senators are elected throuh a system called a Proportional Representation System. The Social Party of National Unity is Colombia's largest party and the Democratic Center Party trails closely behind. Many guerilla groups are against the government. Right now, the government is trying to coax the guerilla groups with peace talks and are trying to end the violence. In the government, there is an abundant amount of misconduct and dishonesty. In my opinion the governmen needs to work on a plan to get rid of the guerilla groups, work on providing freedom of speech and religion back to where it should be, and work on ending the violence that occurs in the cities, the government, and between the nation's people.
